- Why Ohio IX was created – Peering point for Larger Enterprises, Regional and State-Wide Fiber Carriers and Corporate Data Centern..IX provides a content distribution point for Video, Audio and Data caching services
- Who Runs the IX – All volunteer organization. Need participation on following committees: Government, Technical, Marketing/Membership and Content Sourcing

- Ohio IX Benefits – Reduces Internet Latency for Streaming Audio and Video, Corporate Applications, Cloud Hosted Voice, and Gaming from a typical 35-40ms down to 1-3 ms. Reduces cost of internet transit upstream connections by up to 70%. Greatly reduces possibility of DDOS attacks, greater newtwork security and increased network reliability.

- Acknowledgements – Discussion of all volunteer organization and those members that have been instrumental in the success of the group (Board members and committee members) Greg Dunn, Matt Moran, Adam Kujawski and Marijan Adam. The technical committee volunteers – Petar Smilajkov, Josh Rowe, Dustin Wright, Eli Callis, Jeff Waddell, Cal Cook, Chris Kane, Phillip Schwartz, Calvin Kane and Jason Gintert.
- Thanks to Kim Gerhart and Brian Riley for their time on the board (were founding members), Chris Tovar on Marketing and Duanne Powell for updating us on the government groups and funding.
- Major IX Accomplishments – Launched new website, migrated Veeam Backups to Cloud Propeller, added PDU’s for more power capacity, went to NANOG and found new members, eliminated cross connect and backup service costs and broke the 300Gbps barrier
